If you spot these red spots on your skin, here's what they mean.

If you're like me, you'll regularly examine your body for bumps, bumps, bruises and anything wrong.

Call me paranoid or too careful, but I like to know what's going on in my body and I like to be ready to see a doctor if I ever find something that suggests an inexplicable change.

 

It turns out that the red spots on the skin are not so rare. In fact, there are a number of reasons, so I thought it would be useful to list them here for anyone who might be in the same situation.

It is important to note that the red dots on the skin can be of different sizes, shapes and shades, and that their meaning can be just as wide. Some are totally harmless, others can have potentially serious causes.

Peechiacs and purpura:
These petechiae, which look like tiny red dots on the skin, are the result of damaged blood vessels or capillaries. They can be caused by stress, cough or certain medicines. They are generally harmless, but may indicate underlying medical problems such as platelet disorders.

Cherry angiomas
They are in the form of small raised bumps, a bright red, and come from a proliferation of blood vessels. Cherry angiomas are generally completely harmless and are often more common with age.
