Towels or dish towels (optional to protect the washing machine). Preparation:
Prepare your shoes:
Remove the shoelaces and insoles if they are removable. Wash the shoelaces separately and wash the inner soles by hand.
Remove excess dirt, mud or stone from your shoes – you can use a damp brush or cloth.
Protection of shoes and washing machines:
Place your shoes in a laundry net or in an old pillowcase to avoid damaging the shoes and drum of the washing machine.
Add a few towels to your washing machine to reduce noise during washing and provide a uniform load in the drum.
Select the programme:
Adjust your washing machine to a delicate cycle at low temperature (30oC or less).
Avoid spin-drying or choose the lowest speed so as not to damage the shape of the shoes.
Addition of detergent:
Use a mild detergent that does not contain aggressive chemicals or bleach.
