4- Inward-lookingness and gradual detachment from the outside world
As death approaches, it is common for the person to feel a need for loneliness. It can limit interactions, speak less, or appear “lively.”
This retreat is not necessarily a sign of suffering, but rather a way for the individual to refocus on himself and prepare for his departure.
Remembering: It is important to respect this need for withdrawal, while remaining present, available and attentive. Sometimes simple contact or presence is enough to provide comfort.
