You may have noticed this little plastic button on the strap on your seat belt. Few people question its usefulness, but it plays a much more important role than it seems. So what’s the point?
The stop button: an ingenious invention
This “stop button”, sometimes called “holding button”, prevents the metal locking plate, the one you start in the loop to slide it too low or too high on the strap.
Imagine for a moment that this button does not exist: the plate would fall at the base of the belt, making its access complicated and frustrating with each use.
Thanks to this small device, the locking plate always remains within reach, allowing you to fasten your belt quickly and effortlessly.
