Smoking: these four ingredients clean the body of nicotine residues

1. Selenium

Cigarettes promote the elimination of antioxidants that neutralise free radicals and prevent disease. As a result, the immune system is becoming increasingly weakened. It is therefore advisable to pay attention to your diet and to consume foods rich in antioxidants such as selenium. The latter is a highly prized trace element for its antioxidant capacity that helps to strengthen the immune system.

According to three different studies, lack of selenium can cause depressed episodes and mood disorders such as anxiety. On average, an adult person would need 55 to 70 ug of selenium per day. You can find this component in foods like natural tuna, mussels, turkey scallops, fish, raisins, etc.

Garlic is a condiment that has several health benefits. Indeed, it has many properties: it is an antibacterial and an anti-inflammatory that is very effective in treating the cold, flu, infections, etc. It is also rich in minerals and vitamins that help improve blood circulation, strengthen the immune system, treat and prevent bacterial infections.

Furthermore, the content of garlic in antioxidants would help prevent dangerous diseases such as cancer. Researchers at the National Cancer Institute studied the case of Chinese who consume this condiment in large quantities. They concluded that this habit greatly reduced the risk of oesophageal and stomach cancer.

They also found that a daily consumption of 10 g of food in the allium family (garlic, onion, etc.) was reduced the risk of prostate cancer by 50%. Therefore, do not hesitate to consume them in order to purify your body from chemicals accumulated due to smoking.

3. 3. Ginger

Ginger is a highly prized spice for its antioxidant capacity that helps to inhibit the progression of cancer cells. The Cancer Foundation also advises people undergoing cancer treatment to consume ginger. Indeed, a study at the University of Georgia found that extracts from this spice helped reduce the size of the tumour by 56%. Researchers investigated the case of mice whose ginger calms inflammation.

You can eat grated ginger on a salad, in marinades, juices, or as an infusion. However, pregnant women, people with blood diseases or diabetes are not recommended. If you are following specific treatment, it is advisable to seek the advice of your doctor.

4. Grapefruit

Grapefruit is a fruit rich in vitamins (A, B5, C) and antioxidants. The latter neutralise free radicals that attack healthy cells in the body and promote the development of diseases. It is also a fruit that helps prevent cardiovascular disease and reduce blood cholesterol levels. So don’t hesitate to consume it, it will help you purify your body.
