Lentils
Lentils have a low glycaemic index, which means that they do not increase blood glucose levels quickly. They are rich in fiber, plant proteins, vitamins and essential minerals. The fibres present in the lenses help to control appetite and maintain a healthy weight. Lentils can be used as an alternative to sources of animal protein rich in saturated fats. You can add lentils to soups, salads or cereal dishes.
