After a long and tiring day, the last thing on our minds is often cleaning. However, there are certain items in our homes that demand daily attention to maintain a healthy and hygienic living environment. While some cleaning routines may already be a part of our habits, there are likely areas we overlook. In this article, we’ve identified eight things you should make a daily cleaning priority to ensure a clean and germ-free home.
Sponges:
Sponges, used for cleaning, can harbor bacteria if not cleaned regularly. To prevent bacterial buildup, clean your sponges daily with warm water and soap or opt for a natural and powerful clean using white vinegar. To avoid contamination, keep sponges away from raw meat juices and replace them every week or two.
Kitchen Counter:
The kitchen counter, constantly in contact with food, household items, and garbage, can become a breeding ground for bacteria. Wipe down your countertops each night with vinegar or disinfectant to prevent bacterial accumulation.
TV Remote Control:
Given the studies highlighting the bacteria on our hands, it’s no surprise that TV remotes can carry germs. Use disinfectant wipes to limit the spread of viruses and bacteria.
Cell Phone:
Our cell phones can be surprisingly filthy, with studies suggesting phone screens are dirtier than toilet seats. Keep your phone clean by using a screen protector, a case, and a cleaning spray on a paper towel to wipe down the screen and the entire phone.
