Wrap your avocado in foil and place it on a baking tray.
Cook in an oven preheated to 100oC for about 10 minutes (depending on the animal’s hardness).
Take the avocado out of the oven, let it cool and then unwrap it. If all goes well, it will be perfectly mature, firm and slightly creamy.
For the short scientific explanation: the aluminium foil helps to retain the ethylene gas produced by the avocado and responsible for maturation.
