Additional freshness tests
Although the water test is effective, here are other methods for checking the freshness of eggs:
Scwarming test: Hold the egg close to your ear and shake it gently. If you hear a rotane sound, it may be old. Fresh eggs have a harder inside.
Visual inspection: Chop the egg on a flat surface. Fresh eggs have a bright, rounded yellow and a thick, cloudy white. If the yolk is flat and the egg whites are pouring, the egg may already be stale.
Odor test: If you break an egg and it has a strong, nauseating odor, it is best to throw it away.
For
maximising freshness, store the eggs in their original packaging in the coldest part of the refrigerator, not in the door. This helps to maintain a constant temperature and prevents humidity loss.
With these methods, you can easily determine the freshness of your eggs and make sure you cook with the highest quality.
