Once the washing cycle of the washing machine is complete, many leave the door closed, to save space and reduce the space occupied. Others leave it open to allow the inside to breathe and dry the inside of the device, then close it after a short notice.
At this stage, one wonders who is right, who leaves it open or who leaves it closed. Leaving it open means soiling it with germs, bacteria and dust that come from the outside, while leaving it closed can mean allowing moisture to form.
Instructions for leaving the door of the washing machine
According to the experts, the door should remain open for 24 hours after the washing has been completed, to allow the washing machine time to dry completely and to avoid the formation of unpleasant odours and mould.
Experts recommend leaving the door open even for several days to circulate the air properly inside the aircraft. In this way, you give yourself the opportunity to use the same washing machine for years rather than for short periods.
Indeed, a washing machine not maintained does not guarantee excellent efficiency over time, it does not well wash the garments which, instead of emerging clean, detached and perfumed, already emerge stinker or even stainless. This means starting washing, consuming electricity and time unnecessarily.
In order to maintain the proper maintenance and to ensure the proper operation of the washing machine, it is necessary to carry out an empty washing once a month, at 90 degrees by means of sodium bicarbonate which must be introduced directly into the drum. If you also pour it into the basket, it can only help you.
It is advisable to choose bicarbonate as it is able to remove germs and bacteria and avoid the formation of moulds. There are many products suitable for disinfecting the washing machine, obviously it is chemicals that damage certain parts, including pipes.
It may also be useful to wash the different parts of the device after each wash, especially when you start washing carpets and anything that can leave residues, for example in the filter. A blocked filter prevents your washing machine from working as well as it should.
One part that we need to focus on is the joint of the drum in which the water accumulates, which is difficult to dry and which then leads to the formation of moulds that transfer to the washed clothes, making them stinking.
Some people have a small bathroom, so they have very limited spaces at their disposal, so they leave the window closed all the time because otherwise they wouldn’t even be able to pass.
While confined spaces are a problem, it is better to find a valid alternative not to damage the device and to avoid spending the triple to buy it and replace it and then find ourselves faced with the same problems after a few weeks.
