Cleaning oven with water steam
To clean the oven regularly, is inevitable. Because even if you take care of cooking and baking, fat fumes settle in cracks and in hard-to-reach places. In addition, there are sauce splashes, dough flashes and other persistent encrustations.

However, the scrub with the hand is laborious and often frustrating. Chemical oven cleaners are expensive and harmful to health. A trick with water vapour helps to remedy this: It ensures that the cleaning of the oven becomes much easier and that stains that have been burnt down in the first place.

For self-cleaning ovens, this process is called hydrolysis. But it is very easy to do itself.

You need:
Pot (suitable for oven), baking dish or deep baking sheet
hot water
Vinegar (alternatively: detergent)
This is how it works:
Preheat the oven to 230 °C. Even better: You use the residual heat of the oven immediately after cooking and baking.
Cook the water with the kettle. Fill the pot (or the baking dish or the baking tray) with the hot water.
Add some vinegar to the water. This prevents the water vapour from leaving limescale residues. In addition, the cleaning effect of the water vapour is intensified. Don’t worry: the vinegar is hardly smelled afterwards.
