My daughter-in-law treats me like her servant, so I decided to teach her a lesson this Christmas
“I didn’t know how much you did at home. I wanted to take it easy, so I added it to your charge. I’m so sorry.”
Then it was me to smile. The lesson had been learned.

“It’s more than good,” I said because it was. “You just need to know that I am old and my knees are no longer the same, even though I want to help in the household.”
“We’re a good team,” Eve said. “Come, I’ll massage your feet. I’ll make you a cup of tea.”
In the end, it was a Christmas miracle, because Eva was again the daughter-in-law I knew, and not the woman sitting on the couch dictated to me orders. Now we sit outside while Eve massages my knee. Everything seems to be as it should be.

But that is only my story. What had you done? Would you have taught a lesson like I? Or would you have completely refused to do anything?
