What can you do with aluminium foil about plants? Admittedly, this sounds like a strange idea … But aluminum foil is a great help for our plants. I’ll tell you this here. And you will see that it will make your life easier. It is also a good way to reuse the aluminum that we no longer use in the kitchen because it comes into contact with our food. And since I hate wasting what I have in my cupboards, I also use it in the garden.
Here are four effective applications of aluminium for our plants.
1. Facilitates the seeds
What do the seeds need to germinate? Warmth and humidity. They surely know what I want. We will create these favourable conditions artificially. Choose a container where you will sow the seeds. Then lay the bottom with an aluminum foil, which is a little too large to show off the container. Give a layer of soil, your seeds, moisturize them and cover them with soil. Fold the aluminum foil over the ground. But be careful: you should not close too airtight. This paper captures heat through its material that attracts the sun’s rays. Better yet! It preserves good humidity. This makes the seeds germinate faster.
2. Protects your plants from cold
If we are already with the thermal properties of aluminum foil, here are my small personal trick. I use the aluminum foil I used in my oven again to isolate my flower pots. In this way nothing is wasted. I live in the mountains and the cold period is quite long. The most sensitive plants suffer from this. That’s why I wrap every pot with this paper. It insulates them against the cold. It also captures the rays of the sun to warm the earth during the day.
3. Keeps birds from fruit trees
