A little piece of metal, but a real feat
The ring of a can is not just a piece of aluminium. It is made from a specific alloy, combining aluminium, magnesium and sometimes other metals. This composition gives it both lightness and solidity. As a result, it is robust enough to open a pressurized box, but also malleable enough to be transformed. It could be compared to a particularly strong paper clip, designed to puncture steel, while remaining maneuverable.
