Natural solutions for an insect-free interior
A simple and effective mosquito trapa
There's nothing more annoying than these little flying creatures that come to disturb our summer evenings. Fortunately, an easy-to-make homemade trap can considerably reduce their presence. How to make it?
Ingredients:
5 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of yeast
250 ml of water
1 plastic bottle (2 liters)
Steps:
Heat the water and dissolve the sugar in it.
Add the yeast and mix well.
Cut the bottle in half and pour the mixture into the bottom part.
Turn the top of the bottle upside down to form a funnel.
Place the trap near the windows or on the balcony.
Why does it work?
Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide released by the fermentation of the mixture. Once inside, they will not be able to escape.
A natural repellent against cockroaches and flies
Cockroaches and flies love leftover food and damp places. To keep them away for a long time, there's nothing better than a homemade repellent made from plants whose smell they hate.
Ingredients:
15 bay leaves
10 cloves
250 ml water
Preparation:
Boil the water with the bay leaves and cloves for 10 minutes.
Let cool then pour into a spray bottle.
Spray in strategic places: kitchen, pantry, bathroom…
Why does it work?
Bay leaf and cloves give off a repellent odor to these pests, prompting them to flee.
