Preparation:
Preheat and prepare the pan:
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease and flour a cake pan.
Melt the chocolate:
In a double boiler, melt the dark or milk chocolate with the butter, stirring until smooth.
Beat the eggs and sugar:
In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until you get a foamy, lighter-colored mixture.
Add the melted chocolate mixture and mix well.
Add the dry ingredients:
Add the vanilla, cocoa, and baking powder, mixing gently.
Add the sifted flour little by little, alternating with the milk, and mix until you get a smooth batter.
Bake:
Pour the mixture into the pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool before removing from the pan.
Decorate:
Cut the cake in half horizontally and add melted chocolate to the center.
Top with more melted chocolate and decorate with sprinkles, nuts, or fruit.
