Neem oil, natural insecticide

There are two equally effective methods for using neem oil against cockroaches, depending on your needs.

In the first case, you can prepare a solution by diluting a few drops of neem oil in water and pouring it into a spray bottle. Then spray the mixture in the areas of the house where cockroaches tend to hide. You can repeat the application every week to maintain the effectiveness of the treatment.

Alternatively, you can also add a few drops of neem oil to your household cleaning products to create a protective barrier against these annoying insects during regular cleaning operations.

What to do to avoid attracting cockroaches to your home

  1. Keep your home clean : Cockroaches are attracted to food debris and moisture. Make sure you regularly clean kitchen surfaces, vacuum up crumbs, and don’t leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight;
  2. Store food in closed containers : Avoid leaving open food on shelves or pantry shelves. Use airtight containers to store foods such as cereal, flour, and sugar to avoid attracting roaches;
  3. Eliminate sources of humidity : These pesky invaders seek water to survive. Repair any water leaks, always dry the sink, and do not leave standing water in plant trays;
  4. Seal Cracks and Crevices : Cockroaches can enter your home through small cracks in your walls, floors, or around windows and doors. Use silicone or caulk tape to seal these openings;
  5. Manage waste properly : make sure that the garbage can is always tightly closed and emptied regularly. Therefore, avoid leaving open garbage bags inside the house;
  6. Avoid clutter : These insects easily hide in piles of paper, boxes, and other items. Reduce clutter, especially in dark, damp areas and in places that are rarely used (such as basements and garages), where these insects tend to hide.
