The Closely Guarded Secret of Garlic and Vinegar

In the family of grandmother’s tricks, we ask… garlic and white vinegar! These two ingredients, well known in our kitchens, also have very interesting repellent properties. Garlic gives off sulfur compounds that insects hate, and vinegar disturbs their sense of smell. Together, they form a deterrent duo, harmless to you but very disturbing to them.

The recipe for homemade spray in 4 steps

You don’t have to be a DIY pro. Follow these simple steps:

The ingredients:

1 head of garlic, 1 glass of white vinegar (about 200 ml), 2 glasses of water (about 400 ml), and a clean spray bottle.

Preparation of the garlic:

  1. Peel 4 to 5 pods, crush them lightly to release their aromas.
  2. Infusion: Boil the water, add the garlic, let it infuse for 10 minutes. Once cooled, strain and add the vinegar.
  3. Spraying: Pour everything into your bottle, shake gently… Your natural repellent is ready.

Bonus tip: store the rest in the fridge and use it within a week.
