Laurel, repellent and scented
Laurel is a very effective natural remedy for keeping cockroaches away, thanks to its intense scent which is unpleasant to these insects .
Using it is simple: just take some bay leaves (fresh ones are better, but dried ones are also fine) and distribute them in the critical points of the house where the presence of cockroaches has been noticed.
Bay leaves do not kill cockroaches, but they deter them from approaching, pushing them to seek refuge elsewhere. It is therefore a safe, economical method and without side effects especially for any animals that live in the house.
You can also make small cloth bags filled with bay leaves and place them in drawers or pantries for long-term protection.
Neem oil, natural insecticide
There are two equally effective methods for using neem oil against cockroaches, depending on your needs.
In the first case, you can prepare a solution by diluting a few drops of neem oil in water and pouring it into a spray bottle. Then spray the mixture in the areas of the house where cockroaches tend to hide. You can repeat the application every week to maintain the effectiveness of the treatment.
Alternatively, you can also add a few drops of neem oil to your household cleaning products to create a protective barrier against these annoying insects during regular cleaning operations.
