The 5-Step Process to Say Goodbye to Rust

  1. Remove visible rust

  • Using a scraper or spatula, remove damaged paint parts and rusty areas.
  • Proceed gently so as not to alter the still healthy parts of the appliance.
  1. Apply a repair sealant

  • Use a waterproof sealant to fill in the affected areas.
  • Apply it using a spatula, then let it dry completely.
  1. Sand for a smooth result

  • After the putty has dried, sand the surface with medium grit sandpaper (120-150).
  • Finish with a thinner paper (220) to obtain a perfectly smooth surface.
  1. Protect with rustproofing

  • Apply rust remover to the treated area to prevent rust from recurring.
  • Let dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  1. Repaint for a flawless finish

  • Apply several coats of special appliance spray paint.
  • Apply about 20-30 cm from the surface with regular movements to prevent dripping.
  • Allow to dry completely before using the appliance.
