Five things you should never throw down the sink drain

The chemicals
Chemicals include solvents (such as nail polish remover), paints, detergents and other cleaning products. These should never be poured down the sink, not even the last drop. They can cause damage to pipes due to unpleasant chemical reactions, not to mention damage to the surrounding environment. They can also be dangerous to human health due to the fumes they produce. They must therefore be disposed of safely, just like oils: collect them in special containers and take them to your nearest waste disposal center.
Medicines and medical products
Medicines and other medical products should not be thrown down the sink, as they can contaminate water and cause problems for groundwater (we are talking about chemicals, after all). So do not pour the last drops of syrup down the sink and do not dissolve expired tablets: instead, take them to the special containers for expired medicines that are found in all pharmacies.
Coffee grounds
You too have probably heard that rumor in your life about coffee grounds and their benefits for pipes . Nothing could be further from the truth : if you crumble them, they do not protect them, but they risk clogging them. Plumbers all over the world say this, who often find themselves having to unclog sinks precisely because of this home remedy. In short: coffee grounds have many alternative uses , but protecting pipes is not one of them.
The egg white
You may have followed the steps of a recipe that did not call for egg whites, but only egg yolks. What to do with the white? Cook it, make an omelette or meringues, but absolutely do not throw it in the sink: it would not melt, clogging the pipes in no time.
