Goodbye bed bugs: simple natural solutions to get rid of them

All it takes is a restless night or a suspicious little red dot on your skin to raise the alarm: bed bugs could be there. The mere thought of it sends a cold shudder down your spine. But there’s no need to panic or resort to chemicals. There are natural alternatives that are gentle on your home but highly deterrent to insects. Focus on two very useful ingredients that you should definitely consider: diatomaceous earth and cloves.
Diatomaceous earth: a fine but particularly effective powder.

Diatomaceous earth has long been used in gardening and home care and is a true natural treasure. This powder is made from fossilized, microscopic algae and dried to neutralize crawling insects—such as bed bugs, ants, or fleas.

How can you use it against bed bugs?
Prepare your room: Vacuum the mattress, box spring, baseboards, and nooks and crannies.
Apply the powder: Sprinkle it lightly (but evenly) around the bed, on the frame legs, along the carpets, and into any cracks.
Let it sit for a few days without wetting the treated areas.
Vacuum carefully, using thumbtacks… and repeat the process if necessary.
A little bonus: This trick also works against cockroaches!
