So, when preparing, it’s a good idea to know how much you can afford these additional payments. The rules vary from company to company, and the price differences vary considerably.

 

If carry-on luggage doesn’t fit within the specified dimensions or exceeds the weight limit, it often has to be placed in the hold. The difference between booking online or paying last minute can be several dozen dollars.

Low-cost airlines like Ryanair, easyJet, and Vueling, in particular, apply strict rules. A small bag is usually free, but a trolley is often charged extra unless you book a more expensive or priority ticket.
