Where should the orchid be placed for it to bloom? The ingenious trick to avoid killing the plant

In summer, it is advisable to place the orchid behind an east- or west-facing window. If your house is south-facing, it is advisable to watch the windows to prevent the sun from burning the foliage of your plant.

In winter, it is less obvious to find the right location for your orchid, due to the lack of light. That’s why it’s advisable to install your plant near a south-facing window, without putting up a curtain, since in winter your orchid is likely not to be attacked by the sun’s rays.

  •  Choose a moist place for the orchid.

In addition to light, humidity is also a factor to consider when setting up your plant. In fact, orchids are tropical plants that appreciate moisture. That said, your plant will do best in a well-lit bathroom or well-lit kitchen. These are the two wettest rooms in the house. In addition, the orchid will help you at the same time to reduce the humidity of these rooms, to avoid mold. In winter, avoid keeping the orchid near the heater or fireplace, which can dry out the ambient air. To increase the humidity level, you can place your orchid pot on a plate containing moist clay balls, or simply water that evaporates from the dish and improves the humidity rate, ensuring more comfort for your plant. Keep in mind that soaking your orchid in water is not recommended, as this can cause its roots to rot.

By choosing the right location for your orchid, you will make your plant last a long time and stimulate a colorful and abundant flowering.
