Here’s how to make a flies and mosquito trap at home: it only takes a few minutes.

There are several ways to create a mosquito and fly trap, but the ones we describe below are the best.

As spring arrives and summer approach, the population of annoying insects increases rapidly, causing significant irritation, especially on wet and sticky summer nights. For those who find flies and mosquitoes boring, traditional insecticides found in shops may not be the best solution.

These products can be harmful to the environment and harmful to human health because of their harmful pollutants. Creating flies and mosquito traps from common household items and organic materials is a breeze. Who is interested, we have some examples to stimulate creativity.

Making a flies and mosquito trap is easy with only a few household items: a plastic bottle, adhesive tape and a saucepan filled with sugary water. Start by cutting the bottle just below the neck with scissors to create two parts. Place one part inside the other, creating a funnel shape with your mouth facing inwards.

Use adhesive tape to secure both parts in place. In a saucepan, dissolve 5 tablespoons of sugar in the water and bring to the boil. Once the sugar has dissolved, allow the mixture to cool before pouring it into the siphon. For optimal effectiveness, leave the trap in the sun or warm it with your hands.

If you want something different from the usual combination of sugar and water, try adding an apple slice to the bottle instead.

Pot Mason and beer

With this option, you can bid farewell to plastic waste. All you need is a large glass jar. Start by pouring the beer into the bottom of the pot. Flies and mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide and unpleasant odours.

To maximize success, consider adding a teaspoon of sugar. Create a cone using a piece of rough paper and adhesive tape, placing it at the mouth of the pot.

This funnel structure will be effective if it is not immersed in beer. Keep the trap near the fruit bowl or window sill or place it on the table while you are dining outdoors.
