Use clean water: Make sure you use clean water, preferably demineralised water or rainwater. Tap water may contain excess minerals that can damage the roots of the orchid.
Choose a suitable container: Use a clear vase or glass container that will allow light to pass to the roots of the orchid. Make sure the container is large enough to accommodate the roots of the orchid without them being too tight.

Change water regularly: It is important to change the water every week to avoid stagnation and the proliferation of bacteria. Also rinse the roots of the orchid with each water change to remove tailings and debris.
