From February 1, 2026, everyday medications will no longer be reimbursed by health insurance: the French will have to pay for them out of pocket.

A saving… at the expense of patients?
To understand this development, we must return to a target: €5.5 billion in savings is the amount that the Health Insurance aims to achieve by 2026. Among the measures envisaged, one of them is particularly controversial: the partial delisting of medications considered to have a “low medical service rendered.”
