When my doctor looked up from the papers and softly said, “You’re pregnant,” everything around me froze.
I blinked at her, convinced I had heard wrong. That couldn’t be right — I hadn’t been with anyone for years.
What was supposed to be a routine visit for fatigue had suddenly turned into something completely surreal. I sat there motionless, caught between confusion and disbelief, while the doctor gently explained that we’d need more tests to confirm.
Driving home afterward, my mind wouldn’t stop racing. How could this possibly be true? Could the lab have made a mistake? Or was there something more serious happening to my body?

Over the next few days, I went over every detail of my life – skipped meals, late nights, nonstop deadlines – searching for an answer. Somewhere deep inside, I knew I’d been pushing myself far too hard for far too long.
